House of the Dragon: Trailer analysis and Release Date

200 years before the fall of the throne, a Dynasty reigned, a dynasty of Dragons. The highly anticipated prequel is here now- House of the Dragon.

House of the Dragon is all set to cover an important event in the history of Westeros, called “the Dance of the Dragons”. This is when a catastrophe of succession takes a turn to a massive civil war that devastates the whole continent and kills off a huge proportion of House Targaryen’s dragons. As one must know, those dragons are very crucial. As the voice in the teaser says, “Gods, kings, fire, and blood. Dreams didn’t make us kings. Dragons did.” This saying indeed is true.
Even though this teaser is only just about a minute long, it packs enough exciting imagery within it, and can rightly be called the teaser.

It’s been a long while since TV viewers got to enjoy time in Westeros. Luckily, we will all be coming back to screens soon, to watch House of the Dragon, the first of many other planned Game of Thrones spinoffs.

This story is a prequel that takes place roughly 200 years before the actions of the classic HBO series – Game of Thrones. The Targaryen dynasty is currently on its fifth king out of the Seven Kingdoms. They have got all the dragons they could wish for and things are proceeding great in Westeros. Definitely, no petty family quarrel over succession could perhaps ruin such a great thing! Unlucky enough for the Targaryen family, George R.R. Martin lives for this epic deed.

Followers of Game of Thrones should most certainly recognize the significant pendant on the chest of this hidden character. Though we can’t see his face, this character is definitely Ser Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans).

King Viserys I in House of the Dragon

Viserys I (Paddy Considine) is the fifth king hailing the Targaryen dynasty. He seems to be carrying out his job quite decently but this can just be the reason for his reign being followed by that of his grandfather Jaehaerys I – who perhaps was the greatest king Westeros ever had. Viserys’s major sin is his affection for his daughter Rhaenyra. Viserys is grooming her in order to be Westeros’s decision-making or the ruling monarch in spite of the precedent of matrilineal succession being set just under Jaehaerys’s reign.

Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) is supposedly the closest character to this story’s main character. Rhaenyra is as suggested before, the apple of her father King Viserys’s eye. If truth be told, for much of her adolescence she has been more or less the apple of everyone’s eye. Known to be the “Realm’s Delight”, she has a very positive endorsement rating in the Seven Kingdoms. She is Viserys’s single child from his marriage to Queen Aemma of House Arryn. She seems to have a set path to the Iron Throne that is unless her father does something crazy -for instance, get remarried.
