The Swordsmith Village Arc starts to hype up as Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 3 sets the stage for the two upper moons. Will Tanjiro manage to breathe through these encounters, or will he suffer a grave injury and falter against Muzan?
Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 3 Summary
The fight against Yoriichi type zero comes to a conclusion as Tanjiro slices the machination’s neck off. Turns out, there’s an ancient sword (maybe it’s 300 years old?) buried inside its body.
Rusted and untreated for an unknown number of years, Tanjiro and Kotetsu fumble their thoughts on their sword. The comedic scene that follows is close to a depiction of Manzai, a double-act Japanese comedy.
While this goes on, Haganezuka shows up from the forest. All of a sudden, trying to take the sword screaming, “Leave it to me!” the social butterfly struggles to clarify what he’s trying to mean.
Later on, we hear from a fellow Swordsmith that he is socially awkward.
Tanjiro, recalling the incidents of the day to Genya, is curious how he healed his broken tooth so fast. This provides some exposition of the true nature of Genya Shinazugawa.
Night of the Attack!
As the fellow swordsmith from the earlier scene returns from a bath, he is killed by the Upper Moon Five. He is shown as a demon inside a vase, his eyes and mouth replaced with each other and tiny child-like hands protruding from his body.
Undisclosed to Tanjiro and the Mist Hashira Muichiro, they converse, and Muichiro learns a human quality from Tanjiro, kindness. Meanwhile, we see a demon on the roof, mumbling and sad about his lord in rage. This same demon interrupts their conversation, crawling and mumbling.
Escaping Hashira’s awareness, Tanjiro instantly switches to his battle senses. He turns out to be the upper moon rank four, Hantengu. Ufotable’s infinite budget animation shines as Mist Hashira’s moves are animated beautifully. However, he gets blown away by the fan from the upper demon.
Tanjiro is paralyzed from the lightning attack, but Genya shows up to blow both of the upper moon’s heads off. With a gun. After, Tanjiro is dragged away from the battle by the Demon, who has now split into four distinct demons.
Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 3 Ending Explained!
Muichiro is an airhead who relies too much on logic, and his character is as stubborn and unreasonable at times, but that does mean he is not willing to learn.
Whatever you do for others comes around to help you, as well, in the end.
Tanjiro, Demon Slayer
However, Tanjiro’s earlier conversation leads him to help Kotetsu, who is struggling against a demon. Finally, the episode ends as Muichiro urges Kotetsu to run away.
Overall, the episode is set up for upcoming battles as we stay in hype for Tanjiro’s new sword and the Mist Hashira’s battle prowess!
